Mrs. Gretchen Ruby To All Instructors

Hello! My name is Gretchen Ruby, and I’m very excited to be part of this growing homeschool community. I’ve been married to my husband, Matt, for 25 years, and we have five children. Arden is 21, a music student at FSU. Corinne, 18, is a student at Hillsborough College. Jackson is 16, Flynn is 14, and Stella, 10 years old. I started homeschooling with my oldest daughter and have been homeschooling for 16 years! Spending time with my kids, seeing who they are and their gifts, has been an absolute joy.

I love all things books, getting out in nature, and creating art and music! I love to create beautiful things. Doing these things with my kids is a bonus!

I have my Bachelor of Music Education from Florida Southern College. I taught in the public school system for 4 years, and then when my first was born, I decided to stay home, to create an environment of beauty, truth, and goodness. Off and on, I have taught various classes and tutored in various homeschooling groups. I am currently the private piano teacher at CAST, and I thoroughly enjoy it. I love getting to know my kids and seeing them grow and learn while having FUN! I also love being part of the worship team at Creekside Church. I play the grand piano and the keys. Every time I serve, I truly look forward to helping lead others in worship! My daughter, Corinne, and I serve in this way together, and I feel so thankful.

I'm looking forward to teaching Upper Elementary art and guiding students to become the artists we were all created to be, in God’s image.
